She was transferred Thursday to the Cleveland Clinic, which two months ago performed the first face transplant in the U.S.Įileen Sheil, spokeswoman for the Cleveland facility, said Nash is being seen by a head and neck surgeon and likely will be treated through a team approach involving many specialists. Medics rushed Nash to Stamford Hospital, where four teams of surgeons operated for more than seven hours to stabilize the 55-year-old Stamford resident. Fatally shot by a police officer, he retreated to Herold's home and died. He had seen the chimp around town and knew how big he was. "She had some crushing injuries to her hands and some tearing injuries to her hands." "I would liken it to a machine-type accident," Ackley said. Nash's hands were horribly disfigured, but still attached to her wrists. "One, two three." The medics rolled Nash onto a stretcher and strapped her in. Nash's attacker, a 14-year-old, 200-pound chimpanzee named Travis, had already been shot by police but was still roaming nearby, temporarily out of sight.

The Reaper Leviathan is capable of taking away 80% dof the player's healthbar if they are attacked outside their vehicle. When the Reaper Leviathan is exposed to damage, it will flinch and roar shortly after being hurt. It is also less likely to notice the player if they use a Seaglide instead of a submersible. The player can use this advantage and swim on the surface to avoid detection. The Reaper Leviathan often swims deeper down but not quite at the seafloor. It also seems to circle its prey (or more commonly the player) for a few moments before attacking and often strikes from behind by surprise. According to the data bank entry, this roar is a form of echolocation, though it does not function like this in-game. The Reaper Leviathan emits loud, echoing roars audible from great distances. ![]() Therefore extreme caution should be taken while exploring those biomes. There are 25 reaper leviathans in Subnautica: 7 in the mountains, 8 in the dunes and 10 in the crash zone. Multiple scars can be seen on the body, particularly around the facial area, and the blueish-white skin appears similar in texture to human skin. It has two maroon mandibles on each side of its face which have a dark gradient and are tipped with large black claws, four in total. Its head features a horn (most likely used for ramming its prey), a large mouth housing many teeth, as well as two pairs of eyes with grey sclera. The fins and other red areas of the body possess slight bioluminescence. Most of its fins, along with its back, are red in color. It also has two dorsal fins running along the length of its entire body, and two ventral fins taking a small portion of its belly. The Reaper Leviathan possesses a long, slim, muscular body with four caudal fins and two pectoral fins. Fins and mandibles included, the creature is just a little shorter than a Cyclops submarine. The Reaper Leviathan is a massive creature. The skeletons ended up here due to Sea Dragon Leviathans coming up from the lava zones to hunt them, as there was a lack of prey after the Kharaa Bacterium wiped their food source out. In the Inactive Lava Zone, and the Lost River Mountains Corridor multiple Reaper Leviathan Skeletons can be found.According to the entry it followed the injured Reaper Leviathan that was being towed on the back of Marguriet Maida's Cyclops. Apps like writeroom for windows1/1/2024 It's also, as far as I can see, the best option out there for a simple, relatively straightforward, small-size word processor. This is an application with a lot of great options, but it's somewhere between a coder's application and a writer's word processor, and straddles the line uncomfortably. The full-screen option is seamless and infinitely better than the ones packaged with Pages or TextEdit. Highlighting the current line is wonderful. On the plus side, the option to universally change your background and font colors is wonderful. Changing the font in one document will change the font of all other documents using that theme, meaning you have to create a new theme for every new document. There's an auto-indent "feature," useless and extremely annoying for any non-coding application, that can't be turned off.

Sign chart calculus khan academy1/1/2024 ![]() Or the function sine of theta is really defined for any theta value, any real theta value that you choose. Gonna be over here, and so the curve, the curve Two, you're gonna go back to this point, and you're This point right over here, and you could keep going. So then you're gonna get back to sine of theta being equal to one. So you could view thisĪs two and a half pi, or however you wanna think about it, then you're gonna go back over here. Two, so if you go to two pi, and then you add another pi over two. We could go, we couldĪdd another pi over two. So this like, just like this, but that's not the entire graph. ![]() That look like this are called sinusoids, because they're You could try other points in between and you get something, you get a graph that looks something like this. I'll make, let me make down a little bit, I'll make this negative one, and so, sine of theta is negative one. ![]() Here, three pi over two, sine of theta is negative one. When theta is equal to three pi over two, so that would be right over So we can maybe see a littleīit of a parallel here. This is, I'll just make this, this is one on thisĪxis, and on that axis. Over two, when theta is equal to pi over two, pi over Keep incrementing the angle, we're gonna start seeing the The way around the circle, and we are back to where we started, and the Y coordinate is zero, so sine of two pi is once again zero, and if we were to keep going around, we're gonna start seeing as we What happens when theta is equal to two pi? Well then we've gone all The sine of theta, so theta, when theta's pi over two sine of theta, or when theta's three pi over two sine of theta is equal to negative one. Same thing as a Y coordinate if the Y coordinate is Here is the point negative, we gotta be careful, is Sine of three pi over two? Well, this point right over Side of the angle intersects the unit circle right over here, and so based on that what is We've gone three quarters of the way around, around the circle. Sine is the Y coordinate, so this right over here is sine of pi. Pi, what is sine of pi? Well, we intersect the unitĬircle right over there. So let's think about what's, what, what happens when theta is equal to pi. So what is sine of pi over two? Well sine of pi over two is just the Y coordinate right over here. Here, and what point is that? Well that's the point zero comma one. Intersects, where it intersects the unit circle is right over To be right along the Y axis just like that, and where it So if theta is equal to pi over two, that's the same thingĪs a 90 degree angle. I'm just doing the ones thatĪre really easy to figure out. Now let's try theta isĮqual to pi over two. What is sine of theta gonna be? Well, when the angle is zero we intersect the unitĬircle right over there. ![]() And so, over here I have theta, and over here we're going to figure out what sine of theta is, and we could do a bunch of theta values. So let's set up a littleīit of a table here. What sine of theta is, and then graph it. To pick a bunch of thetas and then come up with Independent variable here, and it's gonna be theta is Y is equal to sine of theta,Īnd on the horizontal axis I'm not gonna graph X,īut I'm gonna graph theta. Still Y in the vertical axis, but I'm gonna graph the graph Unit circle, and then those, the Y coordinate of that point is going to be sine of theta. This is X, and this is Y, or you could even do this, as the, well, we can just use X or Y,Īnd so for a given theta we can see where that angleĮntered to the terminal side of the angle intersects the Gonna use that to figure out the values of sine of On the left hand side right over here, and I'm I don't need that space right there, so let me clear that out. Over here I've got a unit circle, and I can, let me Let's actually draw the sine function out,Īnd what I have here, on the left hand side right What are the domain and range of the sine function? So to think about that,

Trevor packer new payment policy12/31/2023 Packer said that all topics required for AP courses were deemed so because they are fundamental or foundational to equivalent college courses that students could skip if they score high enough on their AP exams. Within the past year, the College Board’s AP African American Studies course and AP Psychology course have appeared in headlines after Florida state officials banned the former and requested edits to the latter because of relatively new state legislation limiting how teachers can talk about race and gender in K-12 schools. He also hopes that the new AP African American Studies course will incentivize more Black students to take AP classes early on and continue to take them throughout their high school career in the same way some states have used AP Spanish as an incentive for Hispanic students. Every high school in the country will receive an evaluation as to whether their AP classrooms look like the demographics of their school, Packer said. This fall, the nonprofit is expected to unveil a new school recognition program. The second is addressing why Black students aren’t being enrolled at proportionate rates in AP classes. The first is onboarding a team with expertise in Native education to address a major disparity: Native American students are 20 percent less likely to have AP classes in their school than all other peers. Diverse representationĪs the College Board looks to diversify the students taking AP classes, Packer shared two particular initiatives. The nonprofit is working to offer free teacher training for districts who commit to offering more sections of AP classes to ensure more students have the option to enroll. In his interview with Education Week, Packer elaborated on that, sharing that College Board research has found one or two AP classes at most per year of high school is enough to prepare students for college. In July, at the AP annual conference in Seattle, Packer shared with AP teachers and school administrators in attendance a two-fold concern for the College Board: that a small percentage of American students were piling up AP classes on their schedules while a majority of their peers barely had access to limited AP seats. Read more about the initiative and the initial challenge in the Seattle Times and Education Week.To catch up on what he said, here are four major takeaways from Packer’s conversation with EdWeek. “What you are doing is, frankly, unprecedented in state educational leadership we have never yet seen a state leader rally private industry to contribute to students’ college readiness and affordability through a small, but incredibly meaningful way – reducing the cost of college credit exams like AP and IB.” ![]() Trevor Packer, Senior Vice President at the College Board, wrote in a Feb. Thanks to the generosity of Microsoft, the Schultz Family Foundation, Boeing, and nearly a dozen other donors, and with the support of Superintendent Chris Reykdal, the College Success Foundation, and Challenge Seattle, Washington is now able to dedicate nearly a million dollars of public and private money to guarantee access to college credits for each of these 15,000 hard-working students. Before the state reached its goal, the AP Access Fund received praise for its swift and innovative response. Governor joined OSPI in announcing that the AP Access Fund reached its goal. Governor's Office partnered with the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) and generous donors to create the AP Access Fund, a public-private partnership to raise funds so that every student receiving free or reduced cost lunch can take AP and IB exams for free. ![]() Governor Cyrus Habib learned that Congressional budget cuts and policy changes were expected to leave approximately 15,000 high-achieving, low-income students without a way to pay for their Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) exams and earn college credit.

Old style stihl string trimmer12/31/2023 ![]() It couldn't hurt, and it could be the reason I hate string trimmers so much. Trimmer in video is a Stihl FS38 dual line string trimmer, however the same procedure. I told him that is pretty much what I do, but why would it matter? He said it is because the trimmer head needs some airflow so it doesn't heat up and cause the line to melt. In this easy to follow video I show you how to re-string a Stihl grass trimmer. He told me the line wasn't my problem if it always melts, he said it was because I just jam the trimmer into the weeds and keep plowing through without swinging the trimmer back and forth. Leave one side of the string approximately six inches longer than the other side of the string. Pull the string where it fits tight around the inside section of the holding unit. ![]() Insert each end of string into the openings around the center of the unit that hold it. Oh, when I was getting the line I mentioned to the salesman that I hated string trimmers because the line always melts for me and I heard this Stihl Premium line was a good choice. Cut off approximately 10 feet of weed eater string. I'm still going to soak it until I rewind the trimmer head Friday. I always keep a separate spool head ready to go. I picked up a spool of the Stihl 0.105 line last night and have to admit, it is as flexible as the red licorice whips. Check out this video that shows how to rewind a Stihl 2 line head trimmer.
